Isuzu Philippines Corporation (IPC) unveiled the much anticipated 2024 Isuzu D-MAX. The event, held at the Central Atrium of SM Mall of Asia, showcased the reimagined pickup truck that aims to set a new benchmark in power, durability, and cutting-edge features.
President Tetsuya Fujita of IPC addressed the eager crowd, emphasizing the company’s dedication to continuous improvement and customer satisfaction. “Over the years, we have continuously introduced numerous advancements to the D-MAX, all the while ensuring that it remains true to its core values, whilst evolving to meet the needs and desires of our customers,” Fujita stated.
The 2024 D-MAX, poised to be a “Game Changer” in the pickup segment, represents IPC’s unwavering commitment to excellence and innovation. Its five-point advantage — a unique combination of performance, safety, design, comfort, and durability — directly addresses the evolving demands of modern pickup buyers.
Visually, the new D-MAX makes a bold statement with a redesigned exterior that exudes both sportiness and futuristic flair. A striking 3-Dimension Front Grille, finished in gun-metal and black chrome, is complemented by redesigned LED headlamps and Daytime Running Lights. New fog lamps with Air Curtain technology not only enhance the aesthetics but also improve the vehicle’s aerodynamics. The truck’s overall presence is further accentuated by the new Cargo Sail bed accessory, 18-inch All-Terrain Alloy Wheels with a Matte Dark Gray Metallic finish, and Triple-wing LED rear combination lamps.
Stepping inside, the D-MAX offers a refined and comfortable experience. The “Miura” design interior features a digital pattern that conveys a sense of clean, solid structure and emotional harmony. Practicality meets luxury with features like a wireless charger, second-row aircon vents, and a new 7-inch Digital MID that provides comprehensive vehicle information. Tech-savvy buyers will appreciate the upgraded infotainment system available in 10.1-inch and 9-inch variations, complete with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto Connectivity.
Safety remains paramount, with the new D-MAX incorporating Isuzu’s Advanced Driver Assist System (ADAS), now featuring a new Gen4 SMART DUO Cam with an enhanced field of view for improved accident-avoidance capabilities. The addition of a 360-degree Around View Monitor, Rear Cross Traffic Brake (RCTB), and a first-in-class built-in Digital Video Recorder further solidifies the D-MAX’s commitment to all-around safety.
Performance enthusiasts will be thrilled by the new Differential Lock system and Rough Terrain Mode, designed to conquer challenging off-road environments. The D-MAX retains its trusted 4JJ3-TCX Blue Power engine, delivering 190PS of maximum power and 450N-m of maximum torque, while the durable chassis and suspension system with exceptional under-chassis body protection ensure long-term reliability.
Recognizing the diverse needs of pickup buyers, Isuzu has expanded its D-MAX lineup. The new D-MAX 4×2 LS-E AT caters to the growing demand for entry-level 4×2 variants.
Additionally, the LS-A variant now comes in two options: the regular LS-A with a 9-inch infotainment system, and the LS-A Plus with a 10-inch infotainment system, a 360-degree Around View Monitor, and a Digital Video Recorder.
The 2024 Isuzu D-MAX is available in a range of colors, including the signature Namibu Orange and the new Biarritz Blue exclusive to the high-end LS-E variant.
“This latest evolution is the product of listening to the feedback of our customers and dealers, integrating their insights into the design and functionality of this new model,” Fujita concluded.
To truly experience the D-MAX’s capabilities, Isuzu brought back its popular Isuzu 4×4 Action Playground. This specially designed test course features seven thrilling stations, including the Rough Terrain Roller, Articulated Ramps, Side Camber, Road Grinder, Chicane, Forward Collision Wall, and the crowd-favorite Hydraulic Ramp. Aftert which the Action Playground embark on a nationwide tour, visiting SM Cebu Seaside and SM Lanang Davao.–Lech P. Quiambao
