ISUZU Philippines Corporation (IPC) partnered with R.O.X Philippines for a “Car Camping 101” Outdoor Guide event on May 4, 2024. The event aimed to educate outdoor enthusiasts about car camping and overlanding, a growing trend in self-reliant outdoor travel and accommodation.
Expert speakers covered various topics relevant to car camping, including camping etiquette, campsite cooking, wilderness first aid, camp kitchen setup, and vehicle customization for overlanding.
The speakers included Lawrence Dy of Car Camping PH discussed camping etiquette, and veteran camper Peter Gaw, known as “Uncle Peter,” shared his expertise on campsite cooking. Coach Manny of UP Mountaineers covered wilderness first aid and essential knot-tying techniques, while Winston “Mr. Campwell” Chua demonstrated camp kitchen setup using the Snow Peak IGT system. Jay Lim of Overland Kings provided insights on vehicle customization for overlanding, including storage, shelter, and water/power systems.
Isuzu Philippines showcased their D-MAX and mu-X models, highlighting their suitability for off-road adventures and emphasizing the importance of choosing durable and reliable vehicles for outdoor activities. The presentation also provided insights from Isuzu’s recent Camp Out event, offering practical tips for vehicle setup and expectations in different camping environments.
“Nowadays, any vehicle can be driven to camp depending on the road and camp terrain. But if you have the choice, you have to choose well — trust only durable and reliable vehicles to get you the best camping destinations in the country, this way you can have more confidence, driving your vehicle with no limits in far flung areas and enjoy it for a longer period of time,” said Robert Carlos, Asst. Division Head for Sales, Isuzu Philippines commented.
The event was co-presented by Snow Peak, a Japanese manufacturer of outdoor equipment, and further solidified Isuzu’s commitment to providing solutions for outdoor enthusiasts in the Philippines.
