THE Isuzu Heart and Smile Project (IHSP) celebrated the graduation of 17 scholars from its Auto Mechanic Training Center in Tacloban. These graduates, known as Batch 21, have successfully completed a rigorous two-year program and earned the National Competency IV (NC IV) certification for Service Technicians.

The IHSP, established in 2008 by Isuzu Motors Limited Japan, provides comprehensive training to underprivileged youth, covering everything from basic to advanced automotive skills. The program offers free boarding and lodging to all trainees and supplements the standard curriculum with specialized classes on Isuzu diesel technology.

IPC President Tetsuya Fujita expressed pride in the program, emphasizing its role in transforming the lives of Filipino youth by providing them with valuable skills and opportunities in the automotive industry.

Select graduates are also given the chance to further their expertise through the Isuzu Global Service Corporation (IGSC), receiving advanced training in light to heavy-duty truck servicing.

During the ceremony, IML Director of the Board and Managing Executive Officer Sales Division, Tetsuya Ikemoto, urged the graduates to utilize their newfound skills effectively and contribute to both their employers and society.

Batch 21 joins the ranks of over 400 alumni who have successfully graduated from the Isuzu TESDA Auto Mechanic Training Center. The center also welcomed 18 new trainees as Batch 25, who will begin their journey toward NC IV certification this month.

Isuzu’s commitment to developing skilled service technicians reinforces its position as a leading truck brand and ensures exceptional customer service. Graduates from the program have consistently proven their competence, earning recognition both domestically and internationally.
