Honda’s latest adventure bike with expressway legal displacement

The all-new CB500X quenches riders’ thirst for adventure 

ADVENTURE riding, a millennial term for what used to be known as multi-terrain riding requires a motorcycle that can travel both on smooth surfaces and handle the rough stuff with ease. This requires a motorcycle equipped to handle both kinds of surfaces.

Honda Philippines, Inc.’s all-new CB500X is just that bike.

Launched earlier in Europe and unveiled in the Philippines last October 22, 2021. the highly anticipated dual-sports adventure bike is now in the Philippines. This latest version is an upgrade but with a price tag that is more affordable to most. It also adds to Honda’s terrain conquering line up which includes the 1,000 cc. Honda Africa Twin.

The new adventure bike is, according to Honda “set to quench every rider’s thirst for adventure” with its powerful 471cc liquid-cooled 4-stroke DOHC parallel twin-piston engine, capable of churning out 35.0kW at 8,500 rpm and 43.2 N.m of torque at 6,500 rpm. These features make it perfect for on- and off-road adventures and alternative commuting because it’s expressway legal.

Fuel capacity is 17.7L of gasoline in an low centered fuel tank with a claimed range-busting 27.8 km/L fuel consumption. This middleweight adventure tourer with its 199kg weight and a befitting 834mm seat height.

The all-new CB500X is both street-sensible and off-road capable with Showa’s latest upside down front fork finished in the well known Showa gold color. The 41mm SFF-BP USD forks partner with Honda’s patented Prolink Mono rear suspension system with a 5-stage pre-load adjuster, steel hollow cross swing arm rear. Stopping power comes from a new dual disk front brakes and large rear brakes. It boasts its larger 19-inch aluminum front wheel, creating more stability on the road for comfortable handling.

When it comes to looks, the all-new CB500X strikes aggressive and distinctive on the road with its sleek exterior and eye-catching color & stripes in Grand Prix Red and Matte Gunpowder Black Metallic. It includes readily available accessories and it comes with a suggested retail price of P380,000.
