Ford’s Everest Wildtrak goes full alpha

- Advertisement -spot_img

If the Everest was already a mountain of capability, Ford just added a summit with swagger, perhaps the likes of the majestic Mt. Mayon. Enter the Everest Wildtrak—a mid-size SUV that straddles between boardrooms and badlands, and back.

With Wildtrak-exclusive bumpers, Matrix LED headlamps, and 20-inch machined alloys, it looks like it could host a powerful, torque-ish pep talk before scaling Mt. Pinatubo or Mt. Apo.

Ford Philippines has just expanded its mid-size SUV portfolio with the official launch of the  Ford Everest Wildtrak, combining the rugged capability of the Everest with the premium features of the Ranger Wildtrak.

Available in both 4×4 and 4×2 variants, the Everest Wildtrak commands presence on and off the road, according to Ford’s press statement, to which Malaya Business Insight has given a fresh tweak.

Powertrain with a punch

·           2.0L Turbo: 170 PS, 405 Nm, 6-speed auto—your daily dose of diesel.

·           2.0L Bi-Turbo: 210 PS, 500 Nm, 10-speed auto—because subtlety is overrated.

Brains and brawn

The Wildtrak 4×2 doesn’t just flex. It’s the only 4×2 Everest variant with Ford’s full suite of driver-assist tech, including:

·           Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop & Go

·           Pre-Collision Assist with Pedestrian Detection

·           Evasive Steer Assist

·           360-degree camera (yes, even in the 4×2)

Inside, it’s all Cyber Orange stitching, a 12-inch touchscreen, and a coast-to-coast dash that feels more boutique hotel than bushwhacker.

Price of admission

·           Turbo 4×2: ₱2,379,000

·           Bi-Turbo 4×4: ₱2,640,000

·           Colors: Luxe Yellow (limited), Blue Lightning, Absolute Black, Meteor Grey, Snowflake White Pearl (+₱20,000)

And yes, it comes with a 5-year/150,000 km warranty, because Ford knows adventure should be thrilling—not expensive to fix.
