Ducati opens in Thailand

Opens first state of the art dealership in Thailand,
which is also one of the largest in Asia.

Ducati Motor (Thailand) today announced the official debut of Ducati Thailand, in the hands of Motore Italiano, the official importer and distributor of Ducati motorcycles in Thailand.

Motore Italiano is led by highly-experienced executives from the Thai automotive industry including executive chairman Grisnagorn Sawettanant, who has been revitalizing the Audi brand in Thailand during the last four years. Grisnagorn has handpicked the management team, which includes celebrity executive Dom Hetrakul, who has played a major role in popularizing the big bike market in Thailand, as the Managing Director of Motore Italiano Co Ltd.

“Ducati Motor (Thailand) and Motore Italiano have worked closely to set up this project and from today, we will start serving Ducati customers as the new official importer and distributor of Ducati motorcycles. Today, we are ready in every aspect to take care of more than 12,000 Ducati customers around the country. We will ensure a strong focus on maintaining the global standard of sales and after-sales services that Ducatisti are used to, all around the world,” Grisnagorn Sawettanant , Executive Chairman, Motore Italiano said.

“We are extremely happy to have Motore Italiano as our new importer and distributor here in Thailand and feel very proud in unveiling their first showroom here at (Suvarnabhumi) in Bangkok. I think the team at Motore Italiano have a deep understanding of the current customer needs, owing to their experience as the importer for Audi in Thailand and this state-of-the-art showroom stands as a testament to the same,” Marco Biondi, Ducati’s Vice President, Sales and Marketing of Asia-Pacific region said.

Biondi also called Thailand Ducati’s second home “with our manufacturing plant celebrating its 10 successful years of operation here last week. With this new partnership, we further strengthen Ducati in Thailand as we strive to provide the same quality of sales, spares and service that Ducati is known for across the world. The Motor Italiano team comprises of people who are not only passionate about riding but also have a strong love for the Ducati brand and its products. I welcome onboard K Dom and appreciate the value he adds to the entire team. I wish K Grisnagorn and his entire team all the very best, on behalf of Ducati,”

As for the plans to strengthen the Ducati brand, Grisnagorn said, “Initially we will concentrate on raising the quality in four main areas in order to give Ducati customers the highest level of confidence. This includes the quality of after-sales service, readiness of showroom and service network, product range variety and an insightful marketing plan that addresses various customer touch points on road, racetrack and off-road experiences.”

The new Ducati Bangkok showroom and service center at Suvarnabhumi has been built on a 1,000sqm plot, which will surely become a new hangout venue for Ducati fans. It features one of the largest Ducati showroom area in the Asia pacific region and has the capacity to display over 30 motorcycles, which will all be available for test rides.

The facility is decorated with modern aesthetics and is fully-equipped with advance technology tooling, Ducati certified mechanics and precision diagnostics via the accurate Ducati Diagnosis System 3.0 (DDS 3.0). For the first time, the new showroom will also feature a one of a kind Moto GP licensed simulator, the Moto Trainer Eagle which lets Ducati riders and enthusiasts test ride their favorite Ducati motorcycles on some of the most beautiful race tracks in the world.

A Direct Reception Area features seven standard repair bays, and up to 10 million THB worth of spare parts inventory to serve Ducati customers in Thailand.

In terms of network expansion, there will be two outlets in Bangkok, located at Suvarnabhumi and Pradit Manutham (Audi Center 4th Floor), plus another four in the provinces, which will be operational in July. They are located in Phitsanulok, Lop Buri, Hatyai and Phuket. The target is to have 10 outlets in every region of the country by the end of this year.

Ducati’s “New Normal” marketing strategy includes online marketing capability that reaches more than 600,000 Ducati followers on Facebook. Marketing events are being planned including national riding events as well as micro events at dealerships on a monthly basis, covering various gateways to every region. Customers now are also able to request test rides at every upcountry showroom.

Every Ducati model overflows with outstanding design and performance, serving as an inspiration for riders all over the world, thanks to the large number of motorsport victories it achieved throughout the years. Ducati’s exceptional engineering excellence started in 1926 and will reach 100 years in a few years (2026). With the new model line up that Ducati has unveiled around the globe like Multistrada V4, Monster, Diavel 1260 Lamborghini, and SuperSport 950, I’m certain that Ducatisti are in for an exciting time here in Thailand as well,” Dom Hetrakul, Managing Director of Motore Italiano Co Ltd said.
