Bosch, a leading global supplier of technology and services, appoints Paulo Duarte as the new Managing Director in the Philippines, effective September 1, 2021. Duarte assumes Joseph Hong who is assigned to manage the Laos market in addition to his current role as Managing Director in Thailand.
Concurrently, Duarte also heads the Automotive Aftermarket division as outgoing Country Sales Director, Sam-Ha Duong, returns to Germany to take on a different role.
Duarte brings his decades-long experience to expand Bosch’s diversified business in the Philippines. He is responsible in strengthening the Philippine business in the areas of automotive, construction, infrastructure security, e-commerce, and business process outsourcing, hand in hand with the company’s commitment towards sustainability and innovation.
Key focus areas include driving the expansion of Bosch’s business in the country, specifically on sustainability and innovation. Advocating road safety through quality and reliable automotive parts to continue under his leadership of the automotive division.

As the Country Sales Director of the Automotive Aftermarket division, Duarte will continue to support Bosch’s commitment in advocating for road safety through championing quality automotive parts. The company has played an active role in promoting the adoption of car safety systems in two-wheel and four-wheel vehicles in the country through collaboration with industry players and government agencies.
Paulo Duarte has been in the Bosch Group for over 30 years and has undertaken various leadership roles in Europe and Asia. Prior to his current role, Duarte was serving as the Country Sales Director for the Automotive Aftermarket in Indonesia from 2014 to 2017. He was also assigned in the Philippines from 2014 to 2017 with the same role.
Duarte studied business administration at Instituto Universitário de Lisboa (ISCTE) in Portugal and took a post-graduation in sales at the Fachhochschule fuer Wirtschaft Pforzheim, Germany.
