TOYOTA Motor Philippines (TMP) celebrated a decade of its premier motorsport event, now re-branded as the Toyota Gazoo Racing Philippine Cup (TGR Philippine Cup), with an action-packed opening last weekend at Clark International Speedway.

“TMP’s motorsports program, launched in 2014, has always been dedicated to promoting high-performance cars, organizing exciting motorsport events, and creating unique experiences for fans,” said TMP First Vice President for Vehicle Sales Operations, Danny Cruz. “With the TGR Philippine Cup, we aim to elevate the experience even further and provide fans with even more ways to enjoy TOYOTA GAZOO Racing.”

The 2024 season marks a new chapter for the series, formerly known as the TGR Vios Cup, featuring a condensed three-race weekend format and a host of fresh activities for both drivers and fans.

The 2024 TGR Philippine Cup will consist of three race weekends.

The July 13-14 event started well but was well challenges with torrents of rain in between runs. Two more events will follow on September 28-29, and November 9-10, all taking place at Clark Interna-tional Speedway. This change allows for a more focused and intense championship battle.

The July weekend race saw returning drivers and newcomers alike will compete across three famil-iar classes: Promotional, Sporting, and Super Sporting. Notable drivers like actor Ryan Agoncillo and Troy Montero will be vying for top honors in the Sporting and Super Sporting classes, respec-tively.
