YOUNG Filipino motorcycle racer Alfonsi Daquigan secured a 13th place finish at the recent Asia Road Racing Championship held at the Pertamina Mandalika International Circuit in Indonesia.

Representing SDG Team HARC-PRO, Daquigan showcased his talent and potential against international competition.

Despite a challenging start, Daquigan demonstrated impressive speed and skill throughout the race, ultimately achieving a fastest lap time of 1:49552. His performance highlights the growing talent pool in Philippine motorcycle racing.

Honda, Daquigan’s sponsor, has been instrumental in supporting young Filipino racers. The company views its participation in the Asia Road Racing Championship as a crucial step in developing local motorsport. By providing training and resources, Honda aims to nurture future racing champions.

Through collaborations with leading banks, the company is providing a range of financing options to make vehicle ownership more accessible. To sweeten the deal, HMPH is including a complimentary two-year or 30,000-kilometer periodic maintenance service (PMS) for all Stargazer units purchased until December 31, 2024.

inDrive partners with Toyota, RideSecure for driver safety

RIDE-HAILING platform inDrive has formed partnerships with Toyota Motor Philippines and RideSecure Insurance Service Corporation to enhance safety for its drivers and passengers.

The collaboration aims to address road safety concerns by providing drivers with access to vehicle maintenance services, training, and comprehensive insurance coverage.

inDrive’s partnership with Toyota Quezon Avenue branch offers exclusive discounts on preventive maintenance services (PMS) for drivers who purchase vehicles from the dealership. Additionally, the companies will conduct quarterly training sessions on basic vehicle troubleshooting.

To further bolster driver protection, inDrive has partnered with RideSecure to provide drivers with affordable insurance packages that include personal accident coverage, own damage, theft, acts of nature protection, and compulsory third-party liability. The insurance provider is offering flexible payment terms to accommodate driver needs.

These initiatives are part of inDrive’s broader commitment to driver welfare and road safety. By collaborating with industry partners, the company aims to create a safer and more reliable transportation ecosystem.

JMC opens dealership in Butuan City

ASTARA Philippines, the exclusive distributor of Jiangling Motors Corporation (JMC) in the Philippines, continues to strengthen its foothold in Mindanao with the opening of the second dealership in Butuan City.

Operated by Globalcars Inc., JMC Butuan is strategically located at Samping’s Place on J.C. Aquino Avenue.

This inauguration follows the recent launch of the first JMC dealership in Davao City, signifying the growing interest in the brand. “The strong demand for JMC vehicles is evident with the quick opening of our second showroom in Mindanao,” said JMC Philippines Sales Director MJ del Pilar. He added that JMC Butuan provides another location for customers to experience their “high-quality pickups” designed for reliable mobility.

JMC Butuan President Jun Osin echoed this sentiment, highlighting Butuan as a key market and praising JMC’s decision to expand in the region. “JMC Philippines’ rugged and quality vehicles are exactly what our customers are looking for,” said Osin. He emphasized the partnership with Astara PH in providing “value-packed transport solutions” for residents, families, and businesses.

JMC Philippines currently offers two pickup models: the Grand Avenue and the Vigus.

The Grand Avenue boasts features like leather upholstery, automatic climate control, electric seats, and a touchscreen infotainment system. This well-equipped pickup is available in 4×2 and 4×4 variants, powered by a 2.3-liter turbodiesel engine paired with either a 6-speed manual or an 8-speed automatic transmission.

The Vigus, on the other hand, is designed for heavy-duty tasks. Equipped with a 2.5-liter turbodiesel engine and a 5-speed manual transmission, it is available in both 4×2 and 4×4 configurations. JMC emphasizes the Vigus’ versatility, fuel efficiency, and ability to handle challenging terrains.

All JMC vehicles come with a 5-year/150,000-kilometer warranty, a lifetime engine warranty, and free 24/7 roadside assistance for the first year. The Grand Avenue starts at P1,221M, while the Vigus starts at P959K.
