SHELL, in collaboration with Ortigas Land Corporation (OLC), has expanded its EV charging infrastructure with the launch of Shell Recharge Stations at three malls within Metro Manila: Estancia Mall, Greenhills-Connecticut Arcade, and Greenhills-Missouri. This expansion adds 10 charging points to the Shell Recharge network, complementing existing ultra-rapid charging stations in Shell TPLEX La Union and Shell SLEX Mamplasan.

The partnership between Shell and OLC aligns Shell’s global expertise in EV charging and mobility with OLC’s commitment to developing strategically located malls that embrace new technologies and anticipate customer needs.

During the ribbon cutting at the Estancia site, Atty. Diego Santiago from Pasig City Government emphasized the collaborative nature of energy transition, stating, “Energy transition is a shared responsibility…We all need to do our part to transition to clean energy to help the country achieve the aspired Net Zero Emissions.”

“Energy transition is a shared responsibility, it thus needs to be a collaborative effort among all industry players, from government agencies to EV manufacturers and dealers to charging station operators, land developers, and even consumers. We all need to do our part to transition to clean energy to help the country achieve the aspired Net Zero Emissions,” said Atty. Diego Santiago from Pasig City Government at the ribbon cutting of the Estancia site.

“OLC embraces technology and embraces the opportunity to make a tangible difference in reducing carbon emissions through Shell Recharge EV Charging Stations in our malls. Shell’s global expertise in EV charging solutions makes it a logical choice to partner with in this endeavor. By serving and enabling socially responsible mall customers in their responsible life choices, OLC is not just charging e-vehicles, OLC is contributing to a movement towards cleaner air, reduced carbon emissions, and a healthier planet for future generations,” said Renee C. Bacani, VP and Head of Ortigas Malls.

Jolo Valdez, Head of E-Mobility, Vehicle Care, Convenience Retail, Business Alliances at Shell, highlighted the importance of collaborative efforts in meeting the rising demand for EV charging solutions. “Our partnership with Ortigas Land is one example of how shared values across industries will make this possible,” said Valdez.

With the addition of these three locations, the Shell Recharge network now includes six sites across the Philippines. The strategic placement of these stations aims to support both long-distance travel and everyday urban commutes for EV owners. Notably, the Shell Recharge site in Mamplasan is powered by 100% renewable energy, with the conversion of the other four sites currently in progress.
