JAECOO PH announced that its J7 PHEV hybrid electric model covered 1,353 kilometers, surpassing its 1,200 km published range during the 2024 OMODA & JAECOO International User Summit in Wuhu, China.
This annual summit, organized by OMODA & JAECOO and their parent company Chery Automobile, gathers over 2,000 participants worldwide to showcase achievements and plans in sustainable development.
The J7 PHEV long-distance challenge is part of this year’s global conference, testing the new model’s fuel and pure-electric functionalities. The parameters for the long-distance challenge were set to replicate the actual usage conditions. The test vehicle carried 3-4 passengers, increasing its weight and adding difficulty to the challenge.
To test the vehicle’s fuel-powered mode, the J7 PHEV traversed urban streets and highways for 2 days and one night from Guangzhou to Wuhu, China without refueling. The vehicle also maintained a depleted state to test its fuel consumption.
In pure electric mode, the hybrid EV covered 125.2 km, surpassing its published range of 90 km. The model demonstrated excellent acceleration, smooth power output, and a noise-free interior, setting a new milestone for zero-emission transportation.
Powered by the SHS (Super Hybrid System), the J7 PHEV offers high thermal efficiency, extended range, low carbon emissions, and high battery safety.
“The J7 PHEV is another innovation engineered with our global automotive engineering DNA. The successful completion of this challenge represents our firm commitment to green travel, demonstrating advancements in battery energy density, motor efficiency, and vehicle design optimization, while fully validating the J7 PHEV’s capabilities in electric driving. We cannot wait to bring this new model to the Philippines in the near future,” Terry Hu, Country Director of OMODA and JAECOO Motors Philippines said.
The J7 PHEV will soon be available in the Philippines. Interested buyers can check out the pre-order and test-drive options on the OMODA & JAECOO website.
