TOYOTA Motor Philippines (TMP) has launched the all-new Hilux GR Sport, a more powerful and rugged version of the country’s number one pickup.
Inspired by the Dakar-winning GR Hilux, the new Hilux GR Sport features a number of exterior and interior enhancements that give it a more aggressive and sporty look.
On the outside, the Hilux GR Sport features a wider track, matte black overfenders, 17-inch alloy wheels with all-terrain tires, and a GR Aero sports bar. It is also taller than the standard Hilux, giving it a more imposing stance.
Under the hood, the Hilux GR Sport is powered by a 2.8L diesel engine that has been tuned to produce more power and torque. The engine now produces 224 horsepower and 550 Nm of torque, which is an increase of 20 horsepower and 50 Nm of torque over the standard Hilux.
The Hilux GR Sport also comes with a number of performance upgrades, including GR front and rear disc brakes with GR brake calipers, and monotube shock absorbers. These upgrades improve the vehicle’s handling and braking performance, both on and off the road.
Inside, the Hilux GR Sport features GR-S suede and leather seats, a GR-S emblem on the leather steering wheel, and leather door trims with technical mesh and red seatbelts. The interior also features a number of new amenities, such as a 9-inch Display Audio with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and a wireless charger.
In terms of safety, the Hilux GR Sport is equipped with a number of features, including a Blind Spot Monitor (BSM), Rear Cross Traffic Alert (RCTA), Toyota Safety Sense (TSS), Panoramic View Monitor (PVM), Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS), Vehicle Stability Control (VSC), Hill-Start Assist Control (HAC), and Downhill Assist Control (DAC).
