MOTOCROSS racing returns as Rounds 1 and 2 of the Namssa Philippine National Supercross Championships reel off Nov. 10 at the Speedworld Circuit, SM Bicutan Open Grounds, Doña Soledad Ave., Bicutan, Parañaque City.
Champion racers led by multi-titled Kenneth San Andres, Jethrick Marquez and Moymoy Flores, plus a sprinkling of up-and-coming riders from the Visayas and Mindanao, will pit guts and skills in the racing extravaganza held under the auspices of the National Motorcycle Sports Safety Association.
The opening rounds will serve as the tune-up races for the FIM Asia Supercross Championship on Nov. 21 to 24 featuring riders from Thailand, Indonesia, Russia, Japan, Malaysia, India, China, Sri Lanka and the Philippines.
The National Motocross Championship and the FIM Asia Supercross Championship are spearheaded by NAMSSA and FIM Asia President Stephan “Macky” Carapiet.
“The Supercross track in Manila is of international standards and surely, the FIM championship will be the most exciting motorsports’ event to hit Manila this year, with high thrilling jumps and aerial maneuvers from the top Asian MX riders,” Carapiet said.
The twin tournaments are organized by NAMSSA, the sole governing body for two-wheel motorsports in the Philippines duly affiliated with the Philippine Olympic Committee, FIM Asia and the Federation Internationale de Motocyclisme of Suisse.
“It will be a fierce battle for Asian supremacy and bragging rights. Motocross enthusiasts will be in for a treat,” said Carapiet.
