MG releases new two new EVs

MG Philippines, launched two electric vehicles last week–the MG 4 EV hatchback and the MG Marvel R crossover. The brand which is now managed by SAIC Philippines promised last July to introduce a line-up that will include full battery and hybrid EVs.

The MG 4 Standard is priced at P1,469,888 for the standard version and the top-spec MG 4 EV Lux (luxury) is sold at P1,738,888. The Marvel R costs P2,588,888. Both versions come with a 5-year bumper-to-bumper warranty and an eight-year EV battery warranty.

The both variants of the MG4 share a distinctly EV exterior with LED headlamps, sharp character lines, and a full-width LED lightbar at the rear. But the Lux version sports twin roof-mounted spoilers and 18-inch aero wheels.

Inside, the MG 4 EV has a spacious and well-appointed interior with a 10.25-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, wireless charging, and a seven-inch digital instrument cluster. Advanced safety features include adaptive cruise control and autonomous emergency braking. Driver comfort comes from the six-way power-adjustable front seats, while occupants enjoy the filtered automatic climate control system, a 60:40 split folding rear seat, and plenty of soft-touch leather and fabric interior surfaces.

The MG Marvel R is a stylish and practical electric SUV with a sleek exterior, spacious interior, and generous cargo space. It features LED daytime running lamps and angular LED headlamps, and a deep character line running from the front to the rear.

It is powered by a 70 kWh battery pack that delivers 183 horsepower and a range of 402 kilometers. It also features a V2L system (vehicle-to-load), enabling the lithium-ion battery to supply energy to external electrical systems, such as air pumps, electric scooters, laptops, or even another BEV.

The MG Marvel R has a curvy dashboard clad in leather and decorated in chrome trim. It also has leather-clad seating, a front cabin elbow rest, and a 60:40 split folding rear seat. The most eye-grabbing interior feature is the huge portrait-style center display. It controls the car’s automatic climate control system and serves as the mounting point for the dial-type shifter, driving mode selector, and regenerative braking toggle.
