ISUZU Philippines Corporation (IPC) expands its national market reach further with the opening of its Tagum dealership. Isuzu Tagum officially opened its doors last March 10.
Strategically located at Barangay Canocotan, crossroad to three major road network systems–the Philippine-Japan Friendship Highway, the Davao-Mati-Agusan Road, and the Davao-Bukidnon Road–that links the city to other major destinations in the region and to the rest of Mindanao, the new dealership was hailed as challenge to set up in the middle of the pandemic.
“We know this has not been an easy decision to open a dealership at this very challenging situation, but you kept to our schedule amidst the delay due to the different community quarantines,” IPC President Hajime Koso said in his welcome remarks during the combined actual and virtual launch of the dealership where he also lauded the perseverance of Image Motors Davao Del Norte Inc, to see Isuzu Tagum through to its completion despite the unusual challenges in 2020.
“The easiest part is to set up the building, the hardest part was to ensure the viability of the business even in the middle of the economic problems in the country and in the region. But we are confident in the upturn of the economy at this time,” Image Motors Davao Del Norte Inc. President Walter Alvarez, said during the short media Q&A after the virtual opening ceremonies. Image Motors is not a new player in the automotive business in the province, operating several other car brands.
He also said the first customer is Davao Vice Mayor Sebastian Duterte who purchased the latest Isuzu D-Max. Managing Director Edward Bangayan said he is very confident of achieving the challenging targets set by Isuzu PH for them because the market is already at the point of recovery and Tagum City as well as the whole of Mindanao has responded favorably economically from the difficulties of the pandemic.
“Tagum has emerged into a booming city with a strong economic development brought by different businesses citywide. It has become inevitable for IPC to set foot here, so that we can cater to more customers in the region,” Koso explained adding that the opportunity to grow the Isuzu brand in the region and serve a rapidly growing customer base inspired the team to work through the challenges.
Sitting on an expansive 5,000-sqm facility the Isuzu Tagum dealership is hard to miss as it features the latest eye-catching Isuzu Outlet Standard (IOS) showroom design, and a large service shop that can cater to 9 light commercial vehicles and 4 trucks all at the same time. Isuzu Tagum officers offered a virtual tour of the dealership’s facilities, showroom, and service bays.
“Isuzu Tagum demonstrates our dedication and commitment to create tailored transport solutions that make the greatest difference to individuals and businesses anywhere in the Philippines,” Koso concluded.
