“THE PHILIPPINES is a key territory in driving forward with our Accelerate strategy. This strategic leadership succession is a sign of our commitment to build on the momentum and accomplishments achieved since we officially entered the market last year,” Alex Hammett, Managing Director, Inchcape South Asia & Pacific said commenting on the management changes at Inchcape Philippines.

Hammer said the company is gearing up for further strategic expansion in the country, seen as a dynamic automotive market with the appointment of a new country head, Alex Yap.

Yap, a seasoned automotive industry professional with over 25 years of experience, takes the helm as Country Head of Inchcape Philippines. He succeeds Hammett, who will now focus on driving growth across the wider South Asia & Pacific region for the company. This leadership transition comes on the heels of a successful first year for the company, marked by significant business growth and development.

Yap brings a wealth of experience to his new role, having previously led digital transformation efforts and operational improvements in Inchcape’s Singapore and Guam & Saipan businesses. He is well-equipped to guide Inchcape Philippines’ distribution, retail, and service operations for a diverse portfolio of global mobility brands.

This strategic leadership change underscores Inchcape Philippines’ commitment to continued expansion in the Philippines. The company is poised to leverage Yap’s expertise and the strong foundation built over the past year to further capitalize on opportunities in the growing Philippine automotive market.

“As the automotive industry continues to undergo rapid change, the Philippines presents an exciting opportunity to leverage our digital capabilities to further grow our distribution business with our mobility partners. I thank Alex and Frankie for their trust in me to lead the Inchcape Philippines team in powering great experiences for our customers and delivering value for all our stakeholders.” Yap said in a statement.

Frankie Ang, the current Chief Operating Officer, will also be transitioning out of his role by the end of the year. Ang has been instrumental in ensuring operational continuity and business growth during Inchcape Philippines’ formative period. He will remain on the board, offering his continued support and insights.

“Inchcape Philippines was born from the ambition to be the undisputed distribution partner for mobility companies in the country. The progress we made in one year is astounding and is a true testament to our people who work to drive better operational performance and deliver exceptional customer experiences. As Inchcape Philippines ushers in a new era for mobility, I will be working closely with Alex Yap, our new Country Head, to ensure seamless continuity and further business success,” Ang ensured.

In response, Hammet said that “I thank Frankie for his invaluable contributions to the establishment of Inchcape Philippines and positioning it for its future, and I am confident in Alex Yap to lead the business in my stead. With his long industry track record and vast experience in utilizing technology to propel businesses, I look forward to seeing Alex drive Inchcape Philippines further forward in powering mobility across the country.”

With these leadership changes, Inchcape PH is well-positioned to accelerate its growth trajectory and solidify its presence in the Philippine automotive landscape. The company’s focus on digitalization, customer-centricity, and talent development, coupled with its strong brand partnerships, sets the stage for continued success in the years to come.
