TECHNOLOGY solutions provider TDG (Transnational Diversified Group) Holdings’ mobility group, EVOxTerra launched one of China’s most auspicious and luxurious automobile brands, Hongqi, in ceremonies at its headquarters in Taguig.
Hongqi is known as the official car brand for top government officials and has been around since 1958. It built every all the official vehicles of each of China’s head of state since its inception. Today, General Secretary and Chinese president Xi Jinping uses the Hongqi L5 for official state functions.
Hongqui means “red flag,” symbolic of growth of the Chinese brand now under the First Automobile Works (FAW) Group in China. The brand been regarded for its quality, luxury, and refinement. The brand is exported to more than 20 countries across Europe, the Middle East, and Asia.

“We are extremely proud to bring this legendary car marque to the Philippines and let Filipinos finally experience for themselves the many reasons why Hongqi remains such an enduring international brand,” Rashid Delgado, President of EVOxTerra said as he explained how the formal partnership between the two companies began a few months after Hongqi’s first appearance in the Philippines via the 10th Philippine Electric Vehicle (EV) Summit last October.
Delgado stressed that the partnership with Hongqi is further proof of EVOxTerra’s commitment to promoting sustainability that brings forth progressive brands firmly entrenched in the future of mobility. It also distributes the Weltmeister brand in the country.

“With the country well on its way to recovery from the pandemic, we think this is an excellent time to further expand Hongqi’s global footprint,” Robert Shaw, EVOxTerra Vice President and General Manager shared as he revealed the initial line of vehicles that will be made available in the country will fall into two categories, New Energy Vehicles (NEV) and Internal Combustion Energy (ICE) models that are fuel-efficient, modern, and environment-friendly. Opening the brand’s salvo is the E-HS9 EV SUV is priced at P4.98M.
“Local customers are assured of the excellent after-sales support that EVOxTerra is known for. We are also inviting and looking forward to working with local partners and dealers who want to bring Hongqi to the rest of the country,” Shaw added, revealing that its first showroom will be found at Bonifacio Global City in Taguig soon.
