MITSUBISHI Motors Philippines Corporation (MMPC) publicly unveiled the all-newTriton pick-up last week via a Facebook Live stream. The new pick-up features a bolder and more aggressive design, with a new grille, headlights, and taillights. It also has a higher ground clearance and wider track, giving it a more imposing presence on the road.
Under the hood, the Triton houses a newly developed 2.4-liter Bi-Turbo diesel engine with a ‘two-stage’ turbo that can produce 204PS of power and a maximum torque of 470Nm, making it more responsive and powerful than ever.
This week, Mitsubishi announced the official commencement of pre-booking for the highly-anticipated all-new Triton, starting last October 20, 2023 in preparation for its actual launch sometime in January 2024, simultaneous to MMPC’s 60th Anniversary Expo.
The all-New Mitsubishi Triton represents a major shift in MMPC’s pickup lineup, emphasizing the company’s commitment to delivering vehicles that exceed expectations. The transition from the “Strada” to the “Triton” nameplate signifies a profound evolution in the brand’s approach to pickup trucks. The Triton name conveys an image of a more advanced and refined pickup truck, symbolizing a vehicle that goes beyond limits, offering an entirely new and enhanced driving experience.
Inspired by Greek mythology and Triton, the powerful god of the sea, the All-New Mitsubishi Triton pickup mirrors a powerful figure with its robust performance and elegant features. Crafted to tackle challenging weather and road conditions, the Triton embodies ruggedness, reliability, and trustworthiness. It promises secure and comfortable off-road family expeditions, transforming each journey into a remarkable exploration.
It showcases a bolder and tougher exterior design, featuring a more aggressive front fascia, striking headlights, and a massive square-shaped grille. Mitsubishi’s iconic Dynamic Shield Design completes the overall look. With a tougher design, extended length, and wider stance, the Triton exudes a dominating presence on the road.
The vehicle’s chassis and suspension have been rigorously tested to provide increased strength and reduced overall weight, ensuring excellent comfort even in the harshest terrain.
For those seeking practicality, the Triton offers a larger cargo bed space with dimensions of 2340 (L) x 1580 (W) x 515mm (H), capable of fitting a Euro palette crosswise. It also features a lower bed floor height of 821mm for easier loading and unloading.
The interior has been reimagined to provide a more comfortable and spacious cabin with essential amenities within easy reach. Enhanced connectivity options through the new 9-inch display audio system elevate your adventures to a whole new level.
Safety is a top priority, with features like Forward Collision Mitigation (FCM) with pedestrian and object detection. The Triton Athlete variant includes Rear Cross Traffic Alert (RCTA) for added safety, along with a Multi-Around View Monitor for confident maneuvering in tight spaces.
Expected pricing will range from P1.134M up to P1.915M depending on the variant. It will be available in seven color variants, including the new Yamabuki Orange and Blade Silver.
