Appdome mobile app to fight threats

Appdome, introduced Appdome MobileEDRTM, a novel enterprise mobile app protection service merging Mobile Threat Defense (MTD) and Endpoint Detection & Response (EDR) capabilities into a unified agentless product. This offering harnesses over 300 defenses of the Appdome platform to enable real-time detection of mobile threats, comprehensive device inspection, and enforcement measures, safeguarding enterprise networks from various attacks including malware and supply chain threats.

Traditional MTD and mobile EDR solutions have struggled to effectively counter the rising tide of mobile threats. These early solutions relied on user-dependent software agents, raising privacy concerns and hindering adoption. Additionally, the manual implementation burden and complex SDKs often deterred mobile development teams from deploying MTD and mobile EDR solutions effectively. Appdome aims to address these challenges by providing an agentless, no-code, no-server solution tailored for enterprise mobile apps, thereby streamlining adoption and maximizing protection.

Richard Stiennon, Chief Research Analyst with IT-Harvest, highlighted the obstacles faced by traditional solutions, citing privacy concerns, compliance issues, and the complexity of SDK implementations. He praised Appdome’s approach for offering comprehensive protection, response, and visibility without the drawbacks associated with traditional methods.

Appdome MobileEDR is integrated directly into enterprise mobile applications using Appdome’s patented no-code platform. This integration enables continuous monitoring of Android and iOS devices, encompassing various types of mobile apps including embedded apps, VR apps, and wearable apps. By embedding necessary capabilities within the app itself, Appdome ensures full runtime protection, enhances stability, and eliminates common issues associated with server-based attestation services.

Tom Tovar, co-creator and CEO of Appdome, emphasized the importance of mobile EDR/MTD solutions in light of incidents like SolarWinds, underlining the need for widespread adoption and persistence. He stressed that effective protection requires solutions that are actively used and cannot be easily disabled.

Bossjobs, PDMN set up job fair
