LAZADA reinforced its commitment to level up its sellers’ growth by providing winning strategies that enable them to stay ahead of new waves of competitors in the online shopping industry. By fostering a highly engaged and resilient seller community, Lazada continues to initiate networking events and training, and invest in innovative all-around marketing tools that would give sellers an advantage in the digital marketplace.
At its “Stronger Together” 9.9 Seller Conference held in Makati City on August 29, partner merchants gathered to learn how to succeed especially in the highly competitive holiday months for sellers ahead.
According to Lazada Chief Executive Officer Carlos Barrera, the e-Commerce giant has been heavily investing in its Philippine operations amid the robust demand from millions of Filipino shoppers, who have enjoyed the convenience of buying goods online.
“We are proud to have such a strong seller community, and we are confident we can achieve even more success together. We have been focusing our investments in key areas that will allow our partners to grow faster and gain more market share, and we want everyone to win. We are happy to reaffirm our partnership not only during this Mega Campaign season but the rest of the year,” he said.
For the past months, Lazada has been rolling out more promotions, such as the Cashback program, which has been effective in keeping customers loyal, as they earn back a percentage of the money they spend while shopping on Lazada. With #MasMabilisSaLazada, its banner campaign for its unbeatable fast and free shipping services, Lazada has further cemented its position in providing a superior online shopping experience for both sellers and consumers.
Lazada’s Seller Conferences are designed not only to keep its seller community updated with current consumer trends and available tools that they can take advantage of to achieve a higher profit, but to also inspire each one with stories of hope and success from their fellow sellers. A panel discussion featured some of Lazada’s seller ambassadors who have built strong and successful businesses with the online platform despite limited financial capacity, and major rivals in their respective sectors.
Asked about his victory in venturing into the eyewear market, Isaac Saliendra of Peculiar Eyewear admitted that there was “no such thing as easy success.”
“Pero sa guidance ng Lazada, such as conducting seminars and training, natutunan ko ang mga marketing tools para lumaki ang presence ko online,” he said. “I was open to the learning opportunity na pwede and available. Lagi akong uma-attend sa mga seminars like the Seller Conference. I’m still learning. Dapat updated ka sa lahat ng tools na available sa Lazada. Dapat eager ka to learn. It’s not about being smart, it’s [about] acting on it,” he added.
On competing with big brands in the local market, Arrianne Fangon of Tilezone Builders Supply said Lazada has leveled the playing field as they can customize and make their online store enticing to potential customers. With the establishment of Tilezone Builders’s store on Lazada way back 2017, Fangon said it allowed them to reach more customers, noting that sales grew significantly during the pandemic as Filipinos spent more on home improvements.
“We utilize ‘yung promotional tools na available sa Lazada, such as sponsored discovery and traffic visibility, lalo na ngayon mas close ang competition, mas maraming tao,” Fangon said.
For Kemia Grace Egalin of KemTrono Online Shop, a brand distributor who started with ₱3,000 capital and is now earning six digits weekly, building customers’ trust through quality items is the key to growing a business. Egalin also shared that she makes a video tutorial of her products so she can better connect with her possible buyers.
Juvy Calaguan Apura of Vy On-Style, who just hit ₱3 million in sales last year, mirrored Egalin’s statement, saying that nothing beats quality products and exceptional customer service.
“Kapag women’s clothing, dapat swak ang description. Dapat accurate. Dapat ma-meet ang satisfaction ng customers. Kung may good reviews, hindi sila mag-hehesitate na bumili sa store mo,” Apura said.
As true business partners, Lazada leaders and teams assured the seller community that the group would continue to innovate and support all their needs at the conference.
Customers can enjoy the best of what Lazada sellers have to offer during the 9.9 Mega Brands Sale, with up to 90% Off Branded LazFlash Deals, Fast and Free Shipping, and Up to P1,000 Cashback. The sale will take place from September 9-13.
