TOP tier brands in the entry to mid-range priced category released their new quad carmera smartphones one after the other. Nokia launched its 7.2; Xiaomi, Redmi Note 8 and Redmi Note 8 Pro; and Vivo its latest V17.
Their releases come RealMe came out with the 5 and 5 Pro with a Zeiss four-lens camera set up too. Consumer demands and standards for phone cameras have scaled in the past five years with phone makers scrambling to take a piece of the market by providing affordable phone with powerful image capturing abilities.

Last October 9, Vivo came out with the V17 Pro smartphone which boasts of not four but a total of 6 cameras–two on the front and a four-in-a-row array at the back. It’s the industry’s first 32MP dual elevating front camera. The standard of the industry is counting the lenses in the back thus the V17 Pro is still considered a quad-camera phone but at 48MP with AI it may have an advantage over others.
