GLOBAL technology brand HONOR revealed that its upcoming Magic7 Series will utilize the Snapdragon 8 Elite Mobile Platform from Qualcomm Technologies.
At the Snapdragon Summit 2024, HONOR outlined its ambition to create an AI-first ecosystem, showcasing new AI features for the Magic7 Series. These include an on-device AI Agent designed for an open ecosystem and real-time NPU graphics rendering for mobile gaming.
Dr. Ray Guo, CMO of HONOR Device Co., Ltd., emphasized the importance of collaboration, stating, “Openness and collaboration are in our DNA. With this collaboration with Qualcomm Technologies, we are defining the AI-first ecosystem and revolutionizing user experiences for the AI era.” He further highlighted the significance of the AI Agent and NPU-powered generative AI for gaming, welcoming users to “the era of Autopilot AI for mobile.”
Chris Patrick, SVP and GM of Mobile Handsets at Qualcomm Technologies, Inc., expressed enthusiasm for the partnership, saying, “We are excited to work with HONOR to shape the future of AI and redefine how people interact with technology. Together, we’re poised to push the boundaries of AI and create truly transformative experiences.”
The Magic7 Series’ AI Agent will be capable of performing tasks based on text or voice prompts, such as ordering food with user consent and learning from user habits to make decisions. It will also be able to manage subscriptions and assist with tasks like travel planning and file transfers.
In addition, the Magic7 Series will introduce real-time AI graphics rendering for mobile gaming, utilizing NPU computing to reduce GPU load and enhance gaming performance.
HONOR also demonstrated its MagicRing technology, which aims to create a seamless multi-device AI experience across the Snapdragon ecosystem. This technology facilitates a smooth flow of information and services between devices, exemplified by the interaction between the HONOR MagicPad 2, Magic Pencil, Magic V3, and MagicBook Art 14.
