Unioil, the third-largest petroleum company in the country, will be allocating P500 million in the coming years for its projects in Cebu where it recently opened its new fuel terminal.
In a statement, Unioil said this expansion beyond Luzon underscores the company’s commitment to providing cleaner fuel options and contributing to regional economic growth in Visayas.
The new terminal, located in Barangay San Isidro, San Fernando, Cebu, has a capacity of over 100 million liters. Given its strategic location, the terminal serves as a central supply hub for various islands, including Bohol, Leyte, Masbate, Negros, Panay, Samar, and Surigao.
Unioil said the Cebu terminal was designed to store imported Euro 5 compliant fuels with a maximum sulfur content of 10 parts per million thus five times cleaner compared to other conventional fuels.
“The launch of the Cebu terminal was another milestone in Unioil’s 58-year history. It demonstrated our commitment to growth and our vision to serve the Visayas and Mindanao areas,” said Janice Roxas-Chua, chief executive officer of Unioil.
With more retail stations planned, Unioil will also be offering business opportunities for entrepreneurs who are interested in operating a Unioil branded station.
