THE 2nd Aliwan Fiesta Digital Queen pageant kicked off earlier last month with 12 finalists, up from nine at last year’s inaugural pageant because of the overwhelming support from LGUs all over the country.
Born out of the COVID 19 pandemic last year, the pageant uses a virtual platform and is separate and distinct from the annual Reyna ng Aliwan Fiesta search. Both events are organized by Manila Broadcasting Company.
One of the 12 finalists this year is Sharmaine Dela Cruz, 24, from Zamboanga City.
A graduate of Ateneo De Zambonga University, Maine was a former international flight attendant of Cebu Pacific and currently works as a medical representative.
She loves watching Koreanovelas and is an accomplished dancer, particularly of cultural ethnic, modern, interpretative, and ballroom dances.
Her love for kids, for teaching, and for education has led her in supporting Ayuda Badjao — a cultural and livelihood project for the indigenous population whose lives are tied to the sea.
After the Pride of Place and Talents & Skills competitions over the last two Saturdays, the final leg of preliminaries happens tomorrow with the Evening Gown and Q&A rounds. The new winner who will succeed Jannarie Zarzoso, will be chosen by a select panel of judges on October 9.
