YOU can’t have it all.

World gymnastics champion Carlos Edriel “Caloy” Yulo’s bid for seven gold medals in men’s artistic gymnastics of the 2019 Southeast Asian Games came to a screeching halt yesterday in the finals of the floor exercise, pommel horse, and still rings at the Rizal Memorial Coliseum.

Yulo, 19, bagged the gold in his pet event, the floor exercise, but settled for the silver in the pommel horse and still rings.

The 4-foot-11 dynamo wowed the festive Pinoy crowd that came in droves amid the heavy downpour and strong winds brought by typhoon “Tisoy” in a follow-up to his mint in the individual all-around last Sunday.

Despite failing in his hunt for a seven-gold sweep, Yulo remained unbowed, setting his focus on the mints in the vault, horizontal bars, and parallel bars today at the same venue.

“I’m not actually aiming for medals. I just hoped for good routines and executions. That’s all,” said Yulo.

“Not satisfied (with my performance). Hindi naman ako nag-expect ng kahit ano. Gusto ko lang po magpasalamat sa kanila (fans) kasi nanonood pa rin sila,” he added.
