RE-ELECTIONIST Sen. Christopher “Bong” Go and ACT-CIS Party-list Rep. Erwin Tulfo are the top choices for senator in the coming 2025 midterm elections, according to the March 15 to 20 survey of the Social Weather Stations (SWS).
The survey, commissioned by the Stratbase Consultancy group, involved 1,800 adult respondents nationwide with a margin of error of ±2.31 percent.
The results showed Go and Tulfo tied in first and second places with a 42 percent voter preference each.
Go’s rating improved by four percentage points from 37 percent last February, while Tulfo’s dropped by three percentage points from 45 percent.
Broadcaster Ben Tulfo and former Senate President Vicente ‘’Tito’’ Sotto III followed in third and fourth places with 34 percent each, unchanged from last February.
They were followed by re-electionist Senators Lito Lapid with 33 percent (down from 36 percent) and Ramon “Bong” Revilla Jr. with 32 percent (from 33 percent).
Re-electionist Sen. Pia Cayetano is tied with former Sen. Panfilo “Ping” Lacson in 7th to 8th places with 31 percent each (down from 33 percent and 32 percent, respectively), followed by Sen. Ronald “Bato” Dela Rosa with 30 percent (down from 32 percent), and television host Willie Revillame with 28 percent (down from 30 percent).
Tied for 11th to 13th places with 27 percent each were Makati City Mayor Abby Binay, former Sen. Manny Pacquiao, and Las Piñas Rep. Camille Villar. Binay and Pacquiao’s voter preference ratings went down by three percentage points from 30 percent last February, while Villar’s went down by two percentage points from 29 percent.
Trailing behind were former Senators Francis “Kiko” Pangilinan (24 percent), Paolo Benigno “Bam” Aquino, Bam (21 percent), re-electionist Sen. Imee Marcos (19 percent), actor Philip Salvador (18 percent), former Interior secretary Benjamin “Benhur” Abalos Jr. (17 percent), former Sen. Gregorio “Gringo” Honasan (15 percent), and re-electionist Sen. Francis “Tol” Tolentino (13 percent).
