FORMER “Pinoy Big Brother” celebrity housemate Riza Santos and actress Patricia Javier are vying for an international tilt in Mexico and an advocacy-driven pageant, respectively.

Riza Raquel Buenaventura Santos will be representing the Philippines at the 8th Miss Global Pageant to be held in Oaxaca, Mexico on January 18, 2020.

Born to Filipino parents and raised in Calgary, Canada, Riza, now 30, rose to fame after winning several national beauty titles, namely, Miss Earth Canada 2006, Miss World Canada 2011 and Miss Universe Canada 2013.

She was also a PBB housemate before venturing into showbiz. She dabbled in acting and recording.

Excited to represent her parents’ homeland in an international tilt for the first time, Riza was given a warm sendoff press con at Topic Restaurant in Makati last Tuesday with Miss Global Philippines CEO Pauline Laping and Hong Kong’s Sophia Ng, the reigning Miss Global, gracing the event.

Meanwhile, singer-actress and wellness advocate Patricia Javier will be wearing the “Philippines-Luzon” banner at the Noble Queen of the Universe to be held at the Manila Hotel on December 1.

Now married to chiropractor and part-time model Robert Walcher, Patricia had her first taste of national attention when she joined Binibining Pilipinas in 1997 when she was then known as Genesis Canlapan.

Patricia, now 40, joins 19 other Noble Queen of the Universe delegates worldwide for the finale on Dec. 1.

More of a strong international sisterhood espousing for noble charitable activities with the traditional trimmings of a beauty pageant, Noble Queen of the Universe was established by a group of men and women led by banker and Mrs. Universe Philippines 2011 Eren Noche Tumali.
