THE UE Red Warriors basketball team has a new coach in Jack Santiago, who met with the players last Monday at the UE gym in Manila.
Santiago was accompanied in the meeting by UE President and Chief Academic Officer Ester A. Garcia and PE director Rodrigo Roque.
An industrial engineering graduate at Mapua, Santiago served as assistant coach of the De La Salle Green Archers for 10 years, in the PBA for three years for the Air21 team, and the Adamson Falcons for the last four years.
Santiago recalled that he used to practice at the UE gym “when I was a member of the Asia Overseas Transport team under coach Roehl Nadurata in the 1989 season of the Philippine Amateur Basketball League.”
During the meeting, Santiago complimented the Warriors for their aggressive play in last year’s UAAP season and called on the players to be “on the same page” with him.
