SUN LIFE Philippines recently unveiled “Portraits Beyond Lifetimes,” an art exhibit that tells the stories of its clients, in line with the company’s 125th year in the country.
Inspired by five powerful narratives, each piece represents partnerships that forged a lifetime bond between the company and the country.
Artworks on display include a First Lady embracing a sacred promise, a pioneer insurance agent fulfilling his duty with passion, the oldest servicing advisor living a life of commitment, a daughter carrying on the love of her father, and one family affirming their trust through six generations.
Illustrator and muralist Jappy Agoncillo brought to life the beautiful story of former Philippine president Manuel L. Quezon who, amid his responsibilities to the nation, made sure that his family with wife Aurora was well taken care of through a Sun Life policy.
Multidisciplinary artist Venazir Martinez’s artwork features Sixto Sandejas, the first Filipino agent to become a member of the Macaulay Club, an elite club for Sun Life’s top-selling agents worldwide. He was a visionary who set the bar high for the company’s advisors.
International artist Katrina Pallon puts the spotlight on Carlos Medina, who at 92 years old is the oldest active Sun Life financial advisor. Mang Carling has been passionately serving his clients for 42 years now and is a testament of a commitment that has served beyond lifetimes.
Megan Diño, who wields water and paint to create portraits and artworks for various clients, highlights the story of Rochelle Ilao-Dolor, whose first death claim as a Sun Life advisor was for his very own father, Nestor Ilao. With this, Rochelle became both an instrument and a witness to his father’s immortal love for his family.
Beach House Creatives owner Abigail Angeles was tasked to create an artwork based on the story of the Sy family, a six-generation Sun Life client. Their policies have not only provided them financial security but also helped them establish their Filipino citizenship.
These artworks are colorful and expressive portrayals of lives shining brighter under the Sun, as well as encompass the trust, passion, commitment and love of a lifetime and beyond.
