ON its 57th year, Binibining Pilipinas, the most prestigious pageant in the country, finds a new ally in the beauty soap brand Silka, which for two decades has been giving Filipinas walang dudang alaga.

These two forces have come together to propel Filipino women to greater heights.
This new relationship between the two organizations resulted in a new special award given for the first time in this year’s Bb. Pilipinas pageant: the Ms. Alagang Silka title. Binibini #24 Francesca Taruc of Pampanga prevailed and took home the accolade of the first ever title.

Taruc, who was crowned Miss Tourism World and Best Body Award in a pageant held in China back in 2019, is a strong advocate of mental health awareness and women empowerment. Silka stands behind their belief that a big part of being a strong, independent woman lies in self-care.

Aside from the said title, Taruc also takes home P50,000 in cash and P50,000 worth of Silka products. The beauty soap brand had the unique opportunity of being entrusted with caring for the skin of the 34 beautiful Bb. Pilipinas candidates this year and empowering them to be the best they can be.

Eunice de Belen, senior brand manager of Silka, said the candidates of this year’s Bb. Pilipinas are the embodiment of the adage ‘grace under pressure’.

“We are here to give them walang dudang alaga and to help them take better care of themselves so that they can always put their best foot forward whatever opportunity they pursue,” de Belen added.

Irene Jose, chief operating officer of Uniprom Inc. and board member at Bb. Pilipinas Charities Inc., said this special tie-up with a trusted brand like the beauty soap brand will allow them to continue their goal to look for empowered Filipina and showcase them in the whole world.
