CLOSE to four out of 10 Filipinos remain supportive of the Marcos administration or are pro-Marcos while almost two in 10 Filipinos support the Dutertes or are considered as pro-Duterte, the January 25 to 31 Tugon ng Masa survey of OCTA Research showed.
The survey, which involved 1,200 respondents with a margin of error of ±3 percent, found that 36 percent, slightly down from 38 percent in August 2024, are pro-Marcos, while 18 percent, slightly up from 15 percent, are pro-Duterte.
OCTA said the rise in the pro-Duterte “indicates a strong resurgence of pro-Duterte support in the first quarter of 2025.”
The results also showed that 26 percent, unchanged, are independent or neither support the Marcoses, the Dutertes, or the opposition, while 8 percent (from 7 percent) support the opposition or are pro-opposition. Twelve percent (down from 14 percent) don’t know or refuse to answer.
OCTA said that in conducting the survey, it provided examples of traditional opposition figures and groups such as former Vice President Leni Robredo, the Liberal Party, and the movements they represent.
OCTA also found that except in Mindanao, the pro-Marcos are highest in Luzon at 47 percent followed by the National Capital Region (NCR) at 39 percent, Visayas at 37 percent, and Mindanao at 9 percent.
