Ogie Alcasid must admire wife Regine Velasquez-Alcasid for her seeming effortless manner of coping with her busy schedule until the end of October.
“Andyan nga naman kasi ang preparation na mga must niyang gawin for her first concert with Sharon Cuneta, scheduled at the Smart Araneta Coliseum,” said an observer, “Yes on Oct. 18 and 19.”
“Malapit na ‘di ba?” observer asked.
The concert, titled “Iconic,” will have Rowell Santiago directing and Louie Ocampo and Raul Mitra as musical directors.
The observer stated, “At kahit paano din, she needs to help Sarah Geronimo promote her movie, ‘Unforgettable,’ since she has a special role in it. Pakikisama ba.”
On our end, we heard that Regine has started work on a new movie, “Yours Truly, Shirley,” where she plays the title role.
The film reportedly is earmarked for the Cinema One Original Film Festival scheduled in November.
And let’s not forget that Regine is one of the mainstays in “ASAP” every Sunday.

It’s reportedly a done deal that Daniel Padilla and Kathryn Bernardo will team up in a series, not in a movie, as earlier stated.
The couple have just returned from a trip to Iceland, where they were lucky enough to see the Northern Lights and also got to have a dip in the Blue Lagoon. They also consider it a bonus to have seen the pink sunset of Iceland.
The “KathNiel” series is set to air next year.
The two were last seen in “The Hows of Us,” released in 2018 and directed by Cathy Garcia.

New look, new role, said singer-actress Manilyn Reynes as she turns dramatic in GMA’s latest drama series, “Madrasta.”
“When the project was first presented to me, I immediately liked it,” she said. “Sayang nga because I’m not, kumbaga, at a liberty to discuss my role lengthily. Basta, the young Kapuso actress who will play my stepdaughter is Arra San Agustin.”
Doing drama is a change of pace for Manilyn, 47, who has long been regarded as a comedienne, having been paired with Michael V. in the long-running sitcom “Pepito Manaloto” on GMA.
She started as a Regal Baby, one of the favorites of Mother Lily Monteverde, more than 30 years ago.
She fell in love and married Aljon Jimenez, also a Regal Baby. Theirs is one of the most enduring showbiz marriages. They have three boys — Kyle,Kirk, and Kael.

Jericho Rosales regrets not being able to make it to the Busan International Film Festival, where his film, “Basurero,” is an entry.
“May namumuong typhoon kasi on the day I was supposed to leave,” he explained, “Kaya na-cancel ang aking flight.”
“Basurero,” a short film directed by Eileen Cabling, features Jericho in the role of Bong, a fisherman who finds himself embroiled in a dangerous side gig. Because of guilt and fear, he decided to find a way out.
Aside from Jericho, “Basurero” also stars Althea Vega, Matt Daclan, Soliman Crus, and Shane Patrick Carrera.
“I would have loved na makasama sa paglalakad sa red carpet sa opening ng event. Just like Judy Ann Santos, who was with Allen Dizon, Vince Rillon and ‘Mindanao’ director Brillante Mendoza.”
The event served as the world premiere screening of “Mindanao,” as its director, Mendoza, is recognized as a world-class Filipino filmmaker.

He misses his role as Tiago, the villain in “The General’s Daughter,” said Tirso Cruz III.
“First time ko kasing gumanap nang ganun kasamang tao sa isang project. And I considered it as a challenge,” said Pip, the actor’s nickname.
“Alam naman ng lahat na good characters madalas ang ginagampanan ko,” he continued.
“Kaya nga kahit si Lyn (his wife) nanibago sa akin. Pero ngayon, she suggests na gumanap ako ng roles of the same kind,” he added with a chuckle.
Pip has a soft spot for all of the show’s stars.
“I will miss them — all my co-stars in ‘The General’s Daughter,’ lalo na si Angel (Locsin), and of course, Albert (Martinez), Paulo (Avelino), plus sina Janice (de Belen), and Eula Valdez.
“But most of all, si Maricel (Soriano), na talagang napakagaling na actress in the true sense of the word. I can hardly wait to work with her again,” said Pip.
The seasoned actor is currently doing two projects, Judy Ann Santos’ series, “Starla” and the Metro Manila Film Festival entry, “Miracle in Cell No. 7,” with Aga Muhlach.
