Charlene Gonzales is not one to panic easily whenever she feels pain in any part of her body.

But days before the premiere of husband Aga Muhlach’s new movie, “Nuuk,” she felt pain in her right hip. Aga immediately advised her to go for a check up. And she found out it was not her hip that needed her immediate attention. Her CT scan showed she had appendicitis so she had to have surgery before it ruptured.

“I cannot thank my anesthesiologist, Dra. Ruiz and surgeon, Dr. Amadeo enough,” said Charlene. “And, of course, the nurses who took care of me.”

Actress Jodi Sta. Maria is now a producer.

She is behind the digital series “My Single Lady,” which features her with Zanjoe Marudo and Ian Veneracion in the cast.

The actress — and producer — is busy and does not seem to give any thought to the upcoming wedding of former boyfriend, Cavite Vice Governor Jolo Revilla, to beauty queen Angelica Alita.

“She has moved on,” said a kibitzer, “Besides, their breakup last December was amicable.

In fact, Vice Jolo has nothing but good words to say about her.”

Jodi also maintains a good relationship with the father of her son, ex-husband Pampi Lacson. We heard, however, that even if their marriage gets annulled, Pampi won’t be able to marry his current partner, Iwa Moto, because Iwa’s marriage to another guy continues to be binding. That marriage has not been annulled, too, although both Iwa and the guy have their own partners.

Joseph Marco, who was last seen in the action series, “Los Bastardos,” has confirmed the report he and Miss Earth Philippines Celeste Cortez are now exclusively dating.

This is obviously why rumors linking him to co-star Ritz Azul fizzled.

“Ritz herself could not give a definite answer,” said an observer, “That was why Joseph has decided to be a gentleman and not say anything about Celeste — while he and Ritz were still in ‘Los Bastardos.’

“It’s good Celeste is understanding,” the observer added.

We wonder if Celeste is related to another beauty queen, 1977 Binibining Pilipinas-Universe Jennifer Cortez, who later joined showbiz.

Daniel Padilla and Kathryn Bernardo are set to start work on their new ABS-CBN series.

That is, even if Daniel’s movie with Sarah Geronimo pushes through.
Daniel and Kathryn’s reunion series reportedly will be shot in Mexico, and both stars are excited.

“Medyo matagal sila mag stay doon,” an insider told us.

The duo was last seen on the TV series, “La Luna Sangre” (2017) where they starred with Richard Gutierrez and Angel Locsin.

Their last film together, “The Hows of Us, was the biggest hit of 2018.

Kathryn starred in two important projects: “Three Words to Forever” with Richard Gomez and Sharon Cuneta and “Hello, Love, Goodbye” with Alden Richards. “Hello” is the biggest box-office hit of all time and has earned Kathryn the box-office queen crown.

The biggest victory for Kathryn, however, is her relationship with Daniel. “My biggest victory is still having DJ (Daniel John) for a boyfriend. We have been together for five years,” she said.

Speaking of lovers, Karla Estrada, DJ’s mother, is in a long-distance relationship with a guy from abroad. She reportedly met the guy at a restobar in one of the guy’s visits in the country. He has been going back and forth to be with Karla. In fact, he is currently in town and the two have visited Palawan together.

Karla’s four children all like the guy.

“Kaya, there’s no problem kung mag-decide si Karla na pakasalan ang guy,” a friend of Karla told us. “He seems serious.”

Karla will turn 45 on November 21. She has never been married.

Where her showbiz career is concerned, Karla has no complaints. Her daily talk show, “Magandang Buhay,” is doing very well. She and her co-hosts, Melai Cantiveros and Jolina Magdangal, are close and consider each other as real friends.

Occasionally, she appears in other shows and movies, too.

Her biggest achievement, though, is her good children.

Karla said: “I wish to believe that I brought up all of them well. Hindi issue sa kanila na may iba-iba silang fathers, who, thank God, alam kung sino sila sa buhay ng mga anak ko.

For that, I cannot thank God enough. I actually feel blessed.”
