JC Santos and Bela Padilla are happy to reunite in writer-director Irene Villamor’s “On Vodka, Beers, and Regrets.”
The two actors have grown very comfortable working with each other and consider each other their good luck charm.
“Suwerte kami sa isa’t isa. Literally, I think, figuratively, andu’n na kami sa suportahan na we make each other look good anytime,” said JC during the movie’s press con.
The two have bonded on and off the movie set — and yes, over bottles of cold beers and liquor. “On Vodka, Beers, and Regrets” is their movie after the Pista ng Pelikulang Pilipino hits “100 Tula Para Kay Stella,” “The Day After Valentine’s” and last year’s Metro Manila Film Festival top grosser, “Miracle in Cell No. 7.” Such is their chemistry that movie fans expect a happy ending for the two, even only on the big screen.
“On Vodka, Beers, and Regrets,” written and directed by Villamor, revolves around Jane Pineda, a washed-up actress and former child star whose career has hit rock bottom.
Struggling to get movie roles and trying to escape from a big scandal, Jane seeks comfort in alcohol. One drunken night, she meets Francis, and suddenly, things change for Jane.
She now finds comfort in Francis’ company. For his part, Francis, who’s with Jane drunk or sober, is more than willing to love her.
Singing the movie’s theme, “Mundo,” the hit single of IV of Spades, is Viva’s rising star Raphiel Shannon.
“On Vodka, Beers, and Regrets” is showing in cinemas on February 5.
