IT’S official. The prodigal son has returned.
Former National University star Dave Ildefonso on Monday announced he has return to Ateneo where he played and won a title in his high school days, saying this move was motivated by his desire to don the country’s tri-colors in international play.
“I have made the decision to return to Ateneo to continue my basketball journey,”
Ildefonso said on his official instagram account @ildavefonso.
“My biggest basketball dream has always been to represent the country in major international meets and I feel that this is the best path to that fulfillment of my dream” he added.
The 6-foot-3 Ildefonso, son of pro league great Danny, suited up for the Batang Gilas Under-19 squad in the FIBA U-19 World Cup in Heraklion, Greece last year.
He has been included in the youth-laden 24-man Gilas national team training pool for the first window of the 2021 FIBA Asia Cup qualifiers in February.
