FILINVEST City hosted the inaugural edition of obstacle course racing in the 30th South East Asian Games and passed the test with flying colors.

“We were very proud and truly honored to be one of the official venues of the games,” said Don Ubaldo, Filinvest Alabang Inc. vice president for townships. “As a full-blown city, we ensure that we have enough green and open spaces for outdoor activities that can cater to international sporting events such as this to give back to the community.”

Held at the garden city’s Spectrum Midway Avenue, the obstacle course racing featured the Philippines, Laos, Malaysia, and Indonesia competing in six events. Filipino athletes, taking advantage of their familiarity with the course, swept all six gold medals disputed.

The obstacle course had a total number of three courses for the six events: two for the men’s team, two for the women’s team, and two for the mixed teams, with a field of play reaching 5km race with 20 obstacles along the route.

With wide, green open spaces, fresh air, smooth routes and optimum safety, there was no doubt that Filinvest City was prepared to offer competing countries a perfect venue for the obstacle course competition.

As the center of convergence in the Metro South, it proved very accessible to SEA Games participants, VIPs, and spectators. Surrounding it are major road networks promising ease of travel, such as the Metro Manila Skyway, South Luzon Expressway, Alabang-Zapote Road, Daanghari Road, Muntinlupa Cavite Expressway, and Old National Highway.
