ELECTRONIC sports (video games) broadcast and management company Lupon WXC is willing to share its deep pool of talented gamers to the national team that will see action in the 31st Vietnam Southeast Asian Games in November.

“Yes, we are willing to share our talents to the national pool. We see no problem in that,” Lupon WXC chief Nico Nazario said in a recent online press briefing to announce its new three-story building that is rising in Gen. Trias, Cavite.

Joining Nazario in the press briefing is actor Paulo Avelino, who has been into video games since his childhood days in his hometown of Baguio City, and is a major partner at Lupon WXC.

Known as “Kuya Nic” among video game aficionados, the Lupon WXC founder said that sister outfit Execration, whose “boot camp” is a stone’s throw away from their new building, has among the best gamers in DOTA (Defense of The Ancients) and Mobile Legends in the country.

Playing on their home turf, local gamers bagged three gold medals when e-sports made its debut in the 30th SEA Games two years ago, but they will only defend their ML Legends Bang Bang title in the Vietnam SEA Games.

The event is among those in the list of games in the Vietnam Games that also includes Arena of Valor, PUBG Mobile, Free Fire, League of Legends, FIFA Online 4, CrossFire, and Raid.

“There is a different feeling when you are cheering your fellow gamers competing in an international competition,” noted Avelino, who semi-manages a stable of pro gamers.

Nazario said he has been in touch with officials of the Philippine ESport Organization, the National Sports Association in the country, to come up with a set of guidelines PESO aims to implement to further professionalize the growing industry nationwide.
