“THE goal is to establish at least 12 BYD dealerships across the Philippines within a year,” Antonio “Toti” Zara,Mobility Access Philippines Ventures, Inc. (MAPVI) President said at the rebranding of BYD in the Philippines last year. The brand had been taken over from Solar Transportation to AC Motors, the automotive subsidiary of the Ayala Group of Companies, now known as ACMobility.

This goal is aggressively being completed as BYD just launched its latest showroom in Bonifacio Global City (BGC)–the third after Quezon Ave and Makati City. The dealership is operated by Harmony New Energy Auto Service.

Jack Feng, Chairman of Harmony Auto, expressed their belief in a sustainable future powered by electric vehicles.

A showcase of technology and service

BYD Global City boasts a spacious 620-square-meter showroom showcasing up to 12 BYD models. Informative displays highlight the latest design and safety features of these electric vehicles.

The facility also features eight service bays equipped to handle general maintenance and repairs for BYD electric vehicles. This ensures a convenient and reliable ownership experience for customers.

Representatives from BYD, Harmony Auto, Ayala Corporation, and government officials attended the opening ceremony. Antonio Zara III, president of BYD’s Philippine distributor, highlighted the collaboration’s significance and BYD’s commitment to the Filipino market. James Ng, Managing Director of BYD Philippines, emphasized the importance of partnerships like this in expanding BYD’s reach in the country.

BYD Global City signifies a new era for electric vehicles in the Philippines. With its focus on innovation, customer service, and a comprehensive ownership experience, this dealership paves the way for a sustainable and electrified future for Filipino motorists.

Designed with the brand’s global philosophy in mind, it also incorporates unique elements reflecting the Philippines’ maritime identity. Soft sea blue lines and green plant decorations create a welcoming and stylish atmosphere.

The new showroom is a one-stop shop for BYD customers.

On display are the popular Atto 3, Han, Tang, and Dolphin, but they can also avail of comprehensive after-sales support services. Special opening deals add to the excitement for potential buyers.

James Ng, General Manager of BYD Philippines and Singapore, highlighted the brand’s continuous investment in the Philippines. He pointed to supportive government policies like tariff-free imports and exemptions for EVs as key factors creating a favorable environment for electric vehicles. This positive outlook reflects BYD’s strong belief in the potential of the Philippine new energy vehicle market.

The BGC showroom is operated by Harmony Auto, chaired by Jack Feng. This partnership demonstrates BYD’s strategy of combining international expertise with local knowledge to deliver a superior customer experience in the Philippines.

Last year, Zara told the media that the target of 12 dealerships across the Philippines was to be established within a year.

Meanwhile, Ng told Malaya Business Insight that locating in the major urban centers is a goal. Insiders at MAPVI say that two one more dealer in Metro Manila is planned while expansion in Laguna and Pampanga in the south and north Luzon is expected. Other target sites are in Bacolod, Cebu, Davao, Iloilo, and Zamboanga.
