Ariel Villasanta does it all in “Kings of Reality Show: The First Reality Movie of Ariel and Maverick with Mommy Elvie.”

The actor pulls out all the stops to see his dream project a reality. He writes, edits, directs, produces and acts in the movie. He also had to take out a mortgage to be able to finish the film. Along the way, he lost touch of his sparring partner, Maverick Revola, who, revealed Ariel, was deeply affected when their movie did not push through ten years ago.

In spite of these setbacks, Ariel is determined. He sees a kindred soul in struggling artists, to whom he dedicates the film. He also has his late mom, Mommy Elvie Villasanta, as inspiration, so in spite of being short of funds, he has decided to forge on. Armed only with his charm and guts, he decided to directly approach celebrities, including Sen. Manny Pacquiao and Coco Martin, who helped immensely.

Ariel also scored a coup when he was able to convince Mayor Isko Moreno, Senator Antonio Trillanes, and Raffy Tulfo to appear in it. Senator Bato Dela Rosa, Cong. Strike Revilla and Chaye Cabal —Revilla, Mocha Uson, Joey de Leon, Regine Tolentino, Jose Manalo, Empoy, Jasmine Trias of “American Idol” Season 3, Suzette Ranillo, Cristina Decena and the late great actor Eddie Garcia and impresario German Moreno are also among those who have agreed to be part of the “Kings of Reality Show: The First Reality Movie of Ariel and Maverick with Mommy Elvie.”

“Kings of Reality Show: The First Reality Movie of Ariel and Maverick with Mommy Elvie” is under Lion’s Faith Production and to be distributed by Solar Films. It takes viewers back to 2008, when Ariel and Maverick were the hottest things on TV. The two decided to seek greener pasture in Hollywood, where they get a shot at the big leagues.

The movie blurs the line that separates ambition and disillusion and shows the duo’s misadventures just for that shot at fame. Their journey in “Kings of Reality Show” is a true chronicle of two dreamers who take a shot at the big time. It shows the real cost of making it big in the entertainment industry and also posits the question whether it is worth it.

“Kings of Reality Show: The First Reality Movie of Ariel and Maverick with Mommy Elvie” is showing on November 27.
