MANILA, PHILIPPINES — AIA Philippines (formerly Philam Life) and BPI AIA (formerly BPI-Philam) were both recently awarded at the Golden Arrow Awards for their exceptional scores based on the 2022 ASEAN Corporate Governance Scorecard (ACGS) and Corporate Governance Scorecard (CGS) Assessment Results.
AIA Philippines and BPI AIA were both presented with three golden arrows, awarded to the Insurance Commission Regulated Companies (ICRCs) for garnering a score between 100 to 109 points. The points are based on the IC’s Corporate Governance Scorecard (CGS), an assessment tool used to determine if an organization is being managed well and is compliant with government regulations.
The scorecard covers five areas of corporate governance such as rights of shareholders, equitable treatment of shareholders, role of shareholders in corporate governance, disclosure and transparency, and responsibilities of the board.
“BPI AIA is proud to be recognized for the second straight year, a testament to our commitment to good governance, which translates to a culture of integrity, positive performance, and sustainable business,” said Karen Custodia, Chief Executive Officer of BPI AIA.
Kelvin Ang, Chief Executive Officer of AIA Philippines, added: “We continue to observe the most stringent standards of business practices, reassuring our customers that they chose the right partner in AIA Philippines, a strong company that they can trust and rely on, with the capability to deliver on its promise to help them live healthier, longer, better lives.”
