ACT-CIS Partylist representative Erwin Tulfo and his brother, Bienvenido “Ben” Tulfo, would have topped the senatorial race and joined their brother Senator Raffy Tulfo in the Senate if the 2025 midterm elections were held today, the August 28 to September 2 Tugon ng Masa survey of OctaResearch showed.
The survey, which involved 1,200 respondents with a margin of error of ±3 percent, also showed the three Dutertes making it to the top 20 senatorial candidates, with former president Rodrigo Duterte landing in the top 12.
His sons, Davao City Mayor Sebastian “Baste” Duterte and Davao Rep. Paolo “Pulong” Duterte were in the 17th and 19th spots, respectively.
The Tugon ng Masa results showed Erwin Tulfo garnering a 60 percent voting preference, followed by Ben with 57 percent, giving them the top two spots.
The others in the top 12 were Former Senate President Vicente Sotto III with a 50 percent voter preference, followed by Bong Go with a 49 percent voter preference, and former Sen. Panfilo Lacson and incumbent Sen. Ramon “Bong” Revilla with a 44 percent voting preference each.
The top 12 also included Sen. Pia Cayetano with a 35 percent voting preference and Sen. Francis Tolentino and former senator Manny Pacquiao with a 34 percent voting preference each.
Also in the top 12 were incumbent Senators Imee Marcos and Lito Lapid, and former president Duterte with 33 percent voter preference each.
Others in the top 20 were Sen. Ronald “Bato” Dela Rosa, Interior Secretary Benjamin “Benhur” Abalos Jr., physician Willing Ong, former Sen. Gregorio Honasan, Mayor Duterte, Makati Mayor Abigail “Abby” Binay, Rep. Duterte, and television host Willie Revillame.
The Commission on Elections said 18,271 positions are up for grabs in the 2025 midterm elections, including 12 senatorial seats.
