CARLOS Edriel Yulo scored 14.933 points to bag a silver medal in the parallel bars late Saturday night to cap his successful campaign in the second leg of the FIG World Cup series at the Aspire Arena in Doha, Qatar.

Yulo finished the tournament with three medals, counting a gold in the floor exercise and a bronze in the vault.

Reigning world vault champion Artur Davtyan of Armenia ruled the parallel bars with 15.083 points while Ukraine’s Igor Radilov took the silver (14.899) at the end of the four-day meet.

Yulo topped the floor exercise, his pet event, with a score of 14.833 points in the second stop of the World Cup series that will determine the qualifiers for the World Championships in Antwerp, Belgium in September.

The Pinoy pint-sized phenom bagged the bronze in the vault with 14.833 points, punctuated by a high score of 14.966 on his first try, which got pulled down by 14.800 on his second attempt as he wobbled slightly on the dismount and took a step back.

Performing in warm weather, Yulo’s performance was certainly a marked improvement over his single bronze medal in the parallel bars in the first stop of the tour in Cottbus, Germany where he competed in sub-zero conditions.

Yulo will brace for cold weather again when the penultimate leg is held from March 9 to 12 in Baku, Azerbaijan.
