WITH University of Santo Tomas prized rookie Angeline Poyos doubtful due to a right ankle injury, the Golden Tigresses–including their coach, Kungfu Reyes–are fervently praying for a miracle.

“Iyong nagkasakit siya so definitely ngayong finals ayaw niyang mawala ulit.

“Nasa finals na tayo, so kung ma-miss out niya iyon, sayang iyong experience itself na makalaro sa finals so hopefully maging motivation sa kanila na mag- step up, hindi lang para sa tao, kundi iyong grupo para manalo kami,” he added.

The Espana-based belles are facing a crisis after Game 1 of the best-of-three finals last Saturday against National University for the 86th UAAP women’s volleyball tournament crown.

The prolific Poyos twisted her right ankle after she stepped on teammate Em Banagua’s foot following a block attempt.

UST dropped the opening match of the Big Dance 23-25, 20-25, 20-25.
