THE grind never stops for the Galeries Tower Highrisers with the 2024-25 Premier Volleyball League All-Filipino Conference set to resume in less than a week.

Like the rest of the teams, the Highrisers wasted no time during the holidays, getting ready for the resumption of the All-Filipino tourney this Saturday at the PhilSports Arena by having intensive training sessions and friendly matches.

The team will go into action sporting a 1-5 slate, good for 10th place.

Last December, the Lerma Giron-mentored Highrisers finally ended their winless spell with a straight-sets victory over the Capital1 Solar Spikers and gave the Chery Tiggo Crossovers a big scare in a five-set thriller before the holiday break.

“Di kami pwedenghuminto, even though nanalonarintaposmagandaiyongnilaro against Chery. Kailangan pang hubuginang character ng team,” said Giron.

She emphasized the process the young team has been going through to get into the summit, reiterating that Galeries has to have the resilience to move forward.

“Ito ay isangprosesona di pwedengmadaliinkasi even though one-year naang team last September, maramingnadagdagnabagongmukha. Sabisiguroni Lord kailanganmuna naming pagdaananitongmgabagaynaitonamasasakit,” Giron explained.

“Di namanagad [magandaangresulta] and they live happily ever after. Prosesotalagasiyanakailangangtiyagainnamin, kailangangharapin, kailangangtanggapin ‘yungmgamangyayari. The Highrisers will be back on the court on Jan. 21 against the Cignal HD Spikers, the first match of a triple-header.
