Letran is going for its fifth consecutive win and a big follow-up to its straight sets victory against the Lyceum Lady Pirates 25-22, 25-17, 25-23 last Friday.

Letran mentor Oliver Almadro said the hustle and willingness to improve should continue for the Lady Knights halfway through the second-round eliminations.

“Sabi namin, just put in the work. The standing doesn’t matter. Sabi nga, God’s works, His works, so term ‘works’, put in the works. So, don’t care about anything [else]. Acknowledged lahat iyan,” said Almadro, whose squad will be led anew by Gia Maquilang, Judiel Nitura and Vanessa Sarie.

San Sebastian is out to bounce back from a 23-25, 9-25, 23-25 loss at the hands of St. Benilde last Saturday.

St. Benilde and Arellano shoot for their fourth straight win at the expense of each other. The Lady Blazers are currently in second with a 10-2 slate while the Lady Chiefs sit in fourth with a 9-4 card.

St. Benilde tactician Onyok Getigan said the team needs to improve its blocking to help their cause.

Aside from veteran middle blocker Zam Nolasco, Getigan wants the rest of his players to make their presence felt at the net.

Led by Marianne Padillon and Laika Tudlasan, the Lady Chiefs silenced JRU Lady Bombers in straight sets 25-17, 25-18, 25-15 last Saturday.
