“Congrats sa team ko dahil iyong pinagpapraktisan namin every day is lumalabas. Lagi lang naming nire-remind iyong kahalagan ng every game kasi dikit-dikit iyong score namin,” Arellano coach Obet Javier said.

“Niremind lang namin sila na ano ba iyong purpose natin bakit tayo nandito. Hindi naman tayo nandito para maglaro lang. Siyempre, ipanalo mo iyong team,” he added.

Angel Habacon and Janelle Bachar led the Lady Red Spikers with 16 and 14 points, respectively.

In the other game, San Sebastian College-Recoletos survived Jose Rizal University in a five-set battle 25-23, 25-23, 22-25, 23-25, 16-14 behind veteran spikers Kat Santos and Tina Marasigan.

Marasigan had a game-high 25 points built on 22 attacks and three service aces while skipper Santos went all-around for the Recto-based squad with a triple-double outing of 21 markers, 16 digs and 15 excellent receptions as San Sebastian moved into a tie with Mapua at 7-5.

KJ Dionisio and Juna May Gonzales also made their presence felt for San Sebastian with 17 and 16 points, respectively.

JRU got to match point at 14-12 in the fifth but the Lady Bombers committed four unforced errors down the stretch, enabling the Lady Stags to escape with the win.

The twin towers of the JRU in Pat Del Pillar and Batara stood tall for the Lady Bombers with career-high 24 and 21 points, respectively, while Deala chipped in 17 markers and 16 digs in the losing effort.
