AFTER completing a sweep of the Ilagan City weekend tour, the Farm Fresh Foxies scored back-to-back victory in the PVL On Tour following an upset against the Petro Gazz Angels 25-23, 25-21, 25-23 last night at the Capital Arena in Isabela.
The Foxies went on a flawless run in Ilagan City and improved their record to 2-1 in Pool A with opposite spiker Trisha Tubu leading the scoring load with 15 points built on 13 attacks, one service ace and one block.
Also delivering the goods for Farm Fresh were spikers Jolina Dela Cruz and Caitlyn Viray who both tallied 12 points each.
Last Saturday, Farm Fresh stunned the Choco Mucho Flying Titans 23-25, 25-19, 25-23, 26-24.
“Comparing is difficult be as when you play back to back games, it’s always complicated and the opponent also is completely different, has a different style of play. We played pretty much the same people both games so it was kinda normal that they would be tired so today was, you know, not a great game of volleyball,” Farm Fresh coach Alessandro Lodi said. “Let’s be honest but you cannot only rely in playing well to win. You need to win some ugly games.
“Today, at the end of the third set, we just insisted and we were so stubborn and refused to lose,” he added.
Veteran Myla Pablo was the lone bright spot for undermanned Petro Gazz, which absorbed a second loss in a row, and slipped to 1-3 card in Pool A, with 18 markers.
