ALOHI Robins-Hardy landed where she wanted all along—finally.
This after Farm Fresh chose the Fil-Am setter as the third overall pick in the PVL rookie Draft over the weekend.
“Honestly, right now, I’m more relieved than excited. As you’ve heard, it’s because I finally get to go on the court, finally get to play the sport that I love,” Robins-Hardy said.
Robins-Hardy, 29, has been with the Foxies since October of last year but was not eligible to suit up for the team as she needed to go through the Draft per league rules.
Since then, Robins-Hardy was at the sidelines and served as an assistant coach for Farm Fresh and University of the Philippines in the UAAP.
Days before the draft, Robins-Hardy reaffirmed her decision to play for no other squad than the Foxies and she will pack her bags, return to the United States and continue her volleyball career abroad, if her desire is not granted.
Robins-Hardy shared that she found solace from the people around her, including her cousin, PBA veteran Gabe Norwood, and his family.
“A lot of it—I don’t even think I read much of it. I just stayed home. I talked to my family back at home. They are always reassuring me that, don’t worry about that, just be ready to play. Even Gabe and his family, Gabe, Leigh, and the boys have been there for me. I’m super grateful,” Robins-Hardy said.
Farm Fresh, since joining the country’s lone pro volleyball league in 2023, has yet to reach semifinals in any conference with its best finish to this date is at fifth place in the last Invitational Conference.
Robins-Hardy will join the likes of veteran Rachel Daquis along with Trisha Tubu, Louie Romero, Caitlyn Viray, and Jolina Dela Cruz.
