UNBEATEN PLDT gets a big boost with the return of ace spiker Savi Davison in the PVL On Tour.
The Fil-Canadian standout arrived in the country last week and is set to backstop the High Speed Hitters in the crucial pool stage of the pre-season meet that will be played in Cebu City this weekend.
The Rald Ricafort-mentored PLDT six will be tested in two consecutive matches—against another unscathed team in Nxled tomorrow and Galeries Tower on Sunday at the University of San Jose-Recoletos Gym.
The High Speed Hitters and the Chameleons are on top of Pool A with perfect 3-0 marks, making their weekend showdown a pivotal duel.
Only the top two squads from each pool will advance to the quarterfinals, while the rest of the teams will go through a knockout stage for a chance to stay alive.
Davison, who missed a few weeks for a much-deserved vacation, has been practicing with the squad since her return to the country.
She last played with PLDT in the AVC Champions League last April in Pasig.
Without Davison, PLDT showed its loaded arsenal after it earlier dismantled the Farm Fresh Foxies, Petro Gazz Angels and Choco Mucho Flying Titans, respectively, in the pool stage.
Earlier this week, the High Speed Hitters faced an off-court adversity after they got stranded in their G. Araneta Avenue training location due to flooding brought by the inclement weather.
Davison, along with stars Mika Reyes, Majoy Baron, Kath Arado, Kim Fajardo and the rest of the team had to be rescued by the Philippine Coast Guard and the Philippine Army.
