LETRAN and defending champion College of St. Benilde flexed their muscles yesterday to turn back their opponents and keep their 1-2 slots in the 100th NCAA women’s volleyball tournament at The Arena in San Juan.

The Lady Knights made short work of the San Sebastian College Lady Stags 25-21, 25-22, 25-23 for their 12th win in 14 outings while the Lady Blazers averted what could have been a second-set collapse to beat the University Lady Chiefs 25-18, 31-29, 25-19.

The four-peat seeking Lady Blazers posted their fourth straight triumph and improved to 11-2 behind middle blocker Zam Nolasco who led the squad with 15 points on 13 attacks and two kill blocks while skipper Mycah Go added 13 markers.
